THE FIRST CREATIVE COLLABORATION BETWEEN MARIA DE LA ORDEN AND CASA LOPEZ

The collaboration between Pierre Sauvage and Maria de La Orden was an obvious choice.

Pierre is Spanish through his grandmother and Maria de La Orden by birth. A Latin heritage with a joyful, colorful influence that they express through their respective collections. With its Mediterranean-inspired and often Hispanic inspiration, Pierre Sauvage has succeeded in establishing Casa Lopez as one of the key players in a elegant art of living, suitable for both city and country, indoors and out, that never takes itself too seriously.

As for the pretty young designer from Madrid, she too has become, in record time, the symbol of a fashion that rehabilitates the idea of assertive chic, that sublimates women by twisting the classics with a touch of quirky fantasy to make them more in tune with the times.

“ The choice of Vichy fabric as a link between our two brands, one specializing in art de vivre, the other in ready-to-wear, was a natural choice for us. This checked cotton fabric originated in France under Napoleon III, in the town of the same name. It was first used in tablecloths and towels, before the iconic BB took it over and made Vichy a clothing emblem, ”
explains Pierre Sauvage, founder and artistic director of Casa Lopez.

Having agreed on an orange pantone, a warm, lively hue, synonymous with sharing and altruism, and a color as piquant as the style of the two houses, each set to work with their fabric as the meeting point for creative proposals, published in limited series.

Pierre Sauvage came up with Vichy placemats with an eighteenth-century cut-out, edged with plain piping and matching napkins, as well as pleated lampshades; Maria de La Orden created a wardrobe featuring a tie-collar blouse, a midi dress with balloon sleeves, slightly flared pants and an oversized headband.

The desire of the two brands was then to propose a total look - art of living and ready-to-wear - through a series of images evoking the freshness and elegance of summer dinner parties.

On the menu of this capsule collection are blown-glass water glasses, vases with hemmed spouts, pomegranates and, in the art of the table series featuring the famous bird motif in a plant interlace hand-painted on a cream background, small and large plates, dishes, goblets and a glazed terra cotta jug.

With the summer vacations just around the corner, these pieces are ideal gift ideas for yourself or to give as a present, to add a touch of to a room, a table or a terrace.

Casa Lopez and Maria de La Orden, this summer's chic and peppy duo, have teamed up around a single fabric - Vichy - and a common chromatic variation - orange - to offer two capsule collections, one art de vivre and the other ready-to-wear, both produced in limited editions.

This nod to the 70's flagship color is magnificently sublimated by an ultra-contemporary, delicate choice of colors. As for Maria de la Orden's collections, perfect as a total look or as a touch, we adopt them for a bucolic lunch or a dinner in town, and we also like them worn in a slightly more bohemian spirit as bare feet for the beach.
